EdBuild-Crane

Story:

Lesson Summary:

Students get to use their building skills to construct the EdCrane. Build your crane and get it all ready for your ROV challenge. First year students use the barcode sheet provided to code their crane. More advanced students can take on the challenge of programming their crane in EdScratch or EdPy.

What You'll Do:

Make sure every student gets 1 robot, 1 EdCreate kit, 1 tray, 1 remote, and the 2 printed student sheets, and *optional cromebook if advanced and coding. Step 1: If possible, take your robotics cart outside! Today is an ideal day for students to get outside and build with a table/blanket and a shade structure - no plugs/outlets needed. Step 2: Students program their robots using their printed barcode sheet. They do not have to have their crane built yet. Step 3: Before you build, look over your printed out connections sheet and think things out as a class. be sure they're aware the different parts of the robots and where their pieces connect. Have students refer back to this sheet during the build if needed. Step 4: Start to assemble the EdCrane's magnetic hook. Step 5: Follow the step by step instructions (printed or online) as you build the EdCrane!
