Grain Size Mystery
Time to go on a sedimentary rock hunt! Students use grain size cards to describe grains within their rock samples.
Materials:
Meeka microscopes
Sandstone, mudstone and limestone samples
Sorting cards
Pippi Pippette
Vinegar or lemon juice
Petri dishes (Remember to use a petri dish when placing the rocks on the microscope)
Nail (to scratch the sample to identify if it is a limestone)
