Grain Size Mystery
Time to go on a sedimentary rock hunt! Students use grain size cards to describe grains within their rock samples.
Materials:
Meeka microscopes
Sandstone, mudstone and limestone samples
Sorting cards
Pippi Pippette
Petri dishes (to avoid scratching microscope)
(4-8) Nail (to scratch the sample to identify if it is a limestone)
(4-8) Vinegar or lemon juice
