Build your basketball skills and become a better person. Improve your personal playbook as you read and learn from mine.
 

What is this Program?

Each training day is full of the skills, stretches, tips and wisdom that I developed on my Journey to two olympic gold medal victories.  Not only will you learn basketball skills as you journey with me, but you will learn principles that will help guide you through any challenges in life.

Playbook (Life and Basketball)

Stretch with me before we work on your basketball game.

I will lead you as you learn new skills, practice drills and play games. Become a better basketball player.

Read my playbook as I share my story with you. Make journal entries as you follow along to develop yourself and become mighty too!

Who is this program for?

Kindergarten through Grade 8 students participate in this program for:

- After School sports (Expanded Learning Opportunity Program-ELOP). 

- Classroom Enrichment (Classroom Unit, Fun Friday, or PE)

- Participation at home (Improve your game!)  

What is the schedule like?

Here is an example schedule showing how you can use this program for your after school Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP).

2:30-2:35  (5 minutes):  Greet Students, Take Roll

2:35-3:05  (30 minutes):  Snack & Free Play (Some time to unwind after school gets out)

3:05-3:25  (20 minutes):  Story and Journaling Time (Read, listen, and journal as you follow along with Ruthie's Life Lessons)

3:25-3:35  (10 minutes):  Stretching  (Follow along with Ruthie's stretching routine videos)

3:35-4:20  (45 minutes):  Basketball Camp Activities  (Watch Ruthie's video and then go outside for some hands-on basketball time)

4:20-4:45  (25 minutes):  Basketball Themed Games (Play to the theme of your monthly topic)

4:45-4:55  (10 minutes):  Study/Free Play   (Get a little help if needed on academics or enjoy time outside to play)

4:55-5:00  (5 minutes):    Clean Up / Pack Up / Dismissal

How do I use the program?

It's as east as 1-2-3!

1. Look at the calendar to get a QUICK OVERVIEW of each training day.

2. Click a day on the calendar to find VIDEO LINKS, JOURNALING PAGES, AND ACTIVITY HELP RESOURCES  for each day.

3. PRINT A LESSON PLAN/SCHEDULE for each of your Coaches (after school staff) for each activity day.
